Media Literacy, Critical Thinking and Validated Independent News

Friday, March 28: Workshop on “Media Literacy, Critical Thinking and Validated Independent News,” 8:30-10:00am, Pacific Sociological Association Meetings, Marriott Downtown Waterfront, 1401 SW Naito Parkway, Portland, OR 97201

Led by teachers affiliated with Project Censored, this workshop provides hands-on training in identifying, researching, and summarizing independent news coverage of significant stories that corporate media cover incompletely or ignore altogether.  The workshop’s objective is to introduce participants to a simple but comprehensive procedure for critically evaluating news coverage, and to give participants direct experience in putting the procedure to use.   Because the process develops critical thinking skills and media literacy, it is especially suitable for teachers and their students.

I would love to participate in such an event, but I live in KY and can’t afford the travel. Do you ever rebroadcast these seminars via this website or hold webinars?

    Thanks for your time…
