When we cannot count on my own Democrats and the proven Corporate welfare seekers, our conscientious Republicans, who can we count on. Capitalism without real transparency is just another brand of Communism, but with the vibrant colors of free enterprise and the American flag.
I believe the answer is a real coalition of citizens, who seek knowledge independently, funded by the people’s tax dollars. They must be granted complete power of freedom from persecution and prosecution, except that by the people’s votes. The governing body of such an institution, must receive life terms, like the Supreme Court judges. They must be able to independently make decisions, not affected by political mortality.
This group must be entrusted with providing information to the public. They must be available for us to receive information on any political candidate up for election at all levels. It would be a huge body, and and such must be funded by tax dollars. This would probably be the single best use of our tax dollars, ironically, using a socialist tool to preserve our democracy.
