Not mentioned is

1) India was the majority stockholder in the joint venture between UCC and India.

2) UCC always maintained that the leak was the result of sabotage by a disgruntled worker and claimed they saw documents that were changed to hide it.

3) Warren Anderson went to India voluntarily.

4) I followed this case closely and never heard about any predictions that the leak would occur.

The above is meant as clarification and not an attempt to depreciate the suffering of those affected. It truly was a diaster.
