A DEMOCRACY is not the Form of gov’t established by the Founders.It is to a constitutional REPUBLIC to which I pledge.Re = thing so republic means public thing. The word democracy does not appear in ant of our founding documents .Democracies rule of law and social justice does nothing to unite us as ONE.Republics Common laws for ALL and Equal under law BLIND justice does just that.We are supposed to be a UNION of self sifficient and governed Republics .so each have a place to feel at HOME.not One nation with leaders ,not representative of the people and states they come from.Lobbying is supposed to come from local concerns not we are the world, Foreign labor using US record profit making boardrooms.Who use congress to pass laws not applicable to them.Divisions have to quit ,We are being divided like cattle for slaughter.preaching femocracy in my republic is WRONG.I will try and sing battle hymn of the democracy nah, that ain’t right?

Corporate marketing communication (and “the news” is now considered entertainment, that is, a product to be marketed) hasn’t isolated individuals as much as fragmenting the community they once comprised into market niches. And so-called Web 2.0 has furthered this fragmentation. Human beings are still human beings, with the same basic human needs; but marketing communication has translated these needs into market niches; so a person doesn’t think of himself or herself as a citizen, or a member of a large, pluralistic community. People today think of themselves as part of a niche market. And they (think they) like the convenience of it. This is why the general information daily newspaper has found itself in a death spiral. People can now cherry-pick the information they see and hear and they think that is a choice. But it is a corporate marketing derived choice, and as you say, that is no choice at all.
