Peter and Mickey devote today’s program to an in-depth look at the vital role of whistleblowers in ensuring public safety and government accountability. The guests are former air marshall Robert MacLean, who recently won a whistleblower case at the US Supreme Court, and Tom Devine, legal director at the Government Accountability Project (GAP). MacLean explains his case, while Devine looks at some of the most notable cases in his 25 years at GAP, from the Three Mile Island cleanup to today. Devine also explains some of the consequences government or corporate whistleblowers can face when they go public, and shares his ideas for improving US whistleblower-protection laws.
