Author, political scientist and media critic Michael Parenti launches the first of the Modern Media Censorship Lectures held at Sonoma State University in the fall semester, 2008.

Series host Mickey S. Huff introduced the topic Can We Call it Censorship? followed by Dr. Parenti’s discussion of Orthodoxy and Diversity in the News Media.

An internationally known award-winning author and lecturer, Michael Parenti is considered one of the nation’s leading sociopolitical analysts. Author Cornell West calls him a towering prophetic voice in American life. Dr. Parenti’s many informative and entertaining books include Inventing Reality, The Politics of News Media, The Terrorism Trap, September 11 and Beyond and most recently Contrary Notions: The Michael Parenti Reader.
