MARY BAUER
Mary Bauer is the Director of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Immigrant Justice Project, now located in Atlanta, Georgia. The Immigrant Justice Project represents farmworkers and other low-wage immigrant workers in high-impact cases in 9 states in the South.
She has a B.A. from the College of William and Mary. She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1990. Since that time, she has worked as an attorney representing low-wage immigrant workers in employment and civil rights cases. Prior to joining SPLC, she was the Legal Director of the Virginia Justice Center for Farm and Immigrant Workers and the Legal Director of the Virginia ACLU.

FELICIA MELLO
Felicia Mello is a freelance writer and photojournalist whose work has appeared in a variety of publications including the Nation, Salon, the Oakland Tribune, the Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times Magazine, and the California Journal.
Felicia received a BA in Political Science from Oberlin College and holds a Master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Graduate School of Journalism.
