Sweden is, per capita, the second largest weapon exporting country in the world, a fact which the majority of Swede’s do not know. Some of Sweden’s major clients include the United States, and Great Britain both of which have doubled the amount of weapons received from Sweden since 2000. The former car company Saab, is the leading manufacturer of weapons in Sweden. Saab no longer manufactures cars in Sweden, because it was bought by the car company General Motors located in the United States. Saab produces fighter jets, gripens, and grenade launchers which are sold throughout the world. While Sweden does not have any soldiers fighting in Iraq, their weapons can be found throughout the war torn country.
