The Fair Share of the Common Heritage is a non-profit social justice organization championing the economic principle that every sentient being — human and non-human — has a right to a fair share of the wealth derived from the earth’s natural resources and humankind’s accumulated cultural knowledge and inventions, all of which should be democratically controlled for the common good. Fair Share promotes this principle through the development and presentation of school curriculum (including film and video), public lectures and conferences, and an annual essay contest.  Founded in memory of Alfred Frederick Andersen and his legacy, The Fair Share of the Common Heritage partners with similarly oriented organizations, including The Media Freedom Foundation, in order to realize Alfred Andersen’s vision of creating “sustained justice for all sentient beings.”
